Bob Russell, one of the greatest Christian preachers living today, once said “Christians can’t even agree on wanting Christ to return.”
First things first…we should all be in agreement that we want Jesus to return.
Second, this isn’t a prediction. I’ve grown to really dislike wacky conspiracy and prophecy kayfabe. At first, it can be very entertaining, but over time it gets old fast. A lot of crazy people have come and gone with specific dates of The Second Coming. Dozens of wacky books have been written. And, it usually involves a lot of mathematic gymnastics, complicated calculations, cloudy interpretations, and PR stunts.
But, this should be no surprise. In fact, Jesus said this would happen:
23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time. 26 “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28 Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.Matthew 24:32-28
The Bible is filled with examples of prophets giving warnings of God’s coming judgement, only to be scoffed. So wisdom tells us to listen and discern, and to always live as if Jesus is returning today. Perhaps another reason to always be prepared is the fact that that on any given day 120,000+ people will die. 44 million people have already died in 2021 so far. The chances of you dying before Jesus returns to earth are very high. This is sobering. “So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him,” -Matthew 24:44.
One-hundred years ago you would be hard pressed to find one “tangible, measurable sign that we were living in the season of Christ’s return.” The Bible makes it clear that no one can know the time when Jesus will return to earth, but the Bible makes it very clear that we will know the season.
Is Jesus coming back soon? I think so. How soon? I don’t know, but…
These are the 22 real reasons that I believe Jesus might be returning in 2022.
1. A Star Collision Visible to the Naked Eye in 2022
In 2017, scientists began predicting that binary stars in the constellation of Cygnus will collide in 2022. The explosion will be so bright that it will be visible to the naked eye and could possibly be the brightest star in the sky, called a red nova. Everyone on earth will get to witness this extremely rare event when it happens. So rare, that this would be the first time an event of this magnitude has ever been predicted. It’s rare because an event like this only occurs approximately once every 10,000 years in our galaxy, according to scientists. In 2018, the scientists back tracked and said new data suggests the red nova probably won’t occur in 2022. No one knows for sure when it will happen, but anything is possible.
Rabbi Yosef Berger of King David’s Tomb on Mount Zion has claimed that the biblical prophecy of Balaam shows that the collision of two stars will herald the arrival of the Messiah. Some Christians have also interpreted this as a sign of Jesus’ second coming.
Astrology and the Star of Bethlehem are familiar parts of the Christmas story. You can fall down a rabbit hole researching this phenomenon, but to keep things simple, if God used a star to communicate the birth of Christ, it would make sense that a magnificent celestial event would mark Jesus’ return to earth.
2. A Health Crisis & Mass Population Control
Three years ago when I was brainstorming about the future I had an interesting thought. The only way for a one world government to exist would be through the implementation of mass control on the world population through a health crisis. Earthquakes, hurricanes, plagues, and even astroids are bad, but wouldn’t bring about the changes that a pandemic could. Viruses are invisible. Using something invisible is the only way to enact mass population control. Coming in second place behind health would be a financial crisis. But, money is visible. Money would have to become invisible. More on that in a minute.
Imagine my surprise, when two years ago an invisible health crisis caused borders to close, travel to cease, mandatory masks and vaccines, and mass population control on a scale never seen before in human history.
3. A Time of Testing
I visited Israel in February of 2020 right before coronavirus shut down the world.
I wanted more than anything to get to touch The Foundation Stone, the place where Abraham prepared to sacrifice Isaac. However, getting inside the Dome of the Rock is nearly impossible for a random Christian tourist. Through a well connected tour guide, some third-party negotiations, waiting, good timing, luck, and more waiting…I was finally able to go inside with a group from the EU. My tour guide said he’s only had 3 people get inside in the last 20 years.
I went inside the beautiful Dome. I laid eyes upon the Foundation Stone. I was trembling. This is where archeologists believe the Ark of the Covenant sat. There’s even an indentation in the stone the shape of the Ark. Everyone seems to agree that this stone is the most coveted piece of real estate in the entire universe and will be the cause of World War 3.
I went down into the small cave underneath it and touched the rock. I closed my eyes and heard a voice say “There is a time of testing coming.” It was very odd. I always thought people who claimed to hear things from the Lord were loony. And, I didn’t know what it meant. Imagine my surprise when less than three weeks later the entire world shut down. I must have heard the phrase “this is a big test” on television 50 times a day. People were dying. Hospitals shuttered. Churches closed down. One famous pastor announced he was cancelling church for a year. The test had arrived. Could this be a test to see who would be faithful before Jesus returns?
Disease epidemics and pandemics have always been considered a sign that Christ’s return was imminent. God has always used plagues to get people’s attention.
It seemed hard to imagine anything like coronavirus, and yet here we are. Coronavirus has our attention like nothing before. Coronavirus has spared no nation. Sure, pandemics have happened before, some even much deadlier. But, nothing has shaken the world like coronavirus. Could this be God’s way of saying to get prepared for Christ’s return?
5. New Variants & Pandemics
The covid-variants have been never ending. People much wiser than me have explained why coronavirus will be with us forever and that variants will continue to popup, each one trickier and trickier to deal with.
Others have explained that if we didn’t see coronavirus coming, who’s to say a new virus isn’t on the way that’s 100x deadlier? It could be right around the corner. It was pure conspiracy two years ago to say that we were funding a lab to engineer deadly coronaviruses using bats. The social media powers would de-platform anyone for saying such a thing. Today, that is accepted as truth. Dr. Fauci even argued that such viral experiments were worth the risk of pandemic. Do you agree? Just imagine what else is happening that we don’t know about…
6. Mandatory Vaccines
Two years ago, mandatory vaccines were something you would only hear about from science fiction movies and conspiracy theorists. Even a year ago, government leaders promised that vaccines would NEVER be mandated. Today, you know that we’re living in a new reality. I don’t think vaccines are the problem. Vaccines have helped billions of people. I think new types of vaccine technology where we don’t know what the long term effects are, paired with mass population control and government power bigger than ever before is the real concern.
Germans thought Hitler would be good for Germany. Ask the Jews in 1930’s Germany if they had any idea of what was coming? Most couldn’t have imagined what was just around the corner. Joe Rogan was criticized last week for sharing a video that seemed to link proof-of-vaccination requirements to the Holocaust. Was he wrong?
7. DNA Vaccines
People were initially concerned that the coronavirus vaccine would alter their DNA. The government and big media were quick to silence these concerns as conspiracy theories. “Injecting RNA into a person doesn’t do anything to the DNA of a human cell,” explained Professor Almond of Oxford University. Fast forward nine months and now, DNA vaccines are on the way. India’s DNA vaccine is the first in the world. “The ZyCoV-D vaccine heralds a wave of DNA vaccines for various diseases that are undergoing clinical trials around the world.” It’s not a conspiracy theory anymore. When scientists begins playing God with DNA, what happens?
8. Microchip Implants in Humans
Have you noticed a trend here? Every time a “conspiracy theory” is debunked on technicalities, the broader theory turns out to be true.
Next, big media was quick to shutdown the conspiracy theory that coronavirus was a cover for a plan to implant trackable microchips inside a vaccine. They said that was crazy talk. However, Bill Gates did say eventually “we will have some digital certificates” for our health records. In a 2018 article in The Atlantic titled “Why You’re Probably Getting a Microchip Implant Someday” they explain in great detail why it’s a technology that is coming sooner than you think.
I think we are months away from being required to have microchips. This was once unthinkable. Of course, many Christians have been aware for a long time that microchips would probably be what Revelation refers to as the Mark of the Beast. And, of course this leads many in the media to laugh. But, I don’t think Christians are laughing. Not this time.
Of course, things are always subtle at first…and can even appear good for humankind. I’m reasonably certain that microchips will first be used for health and vaccination records. And, then travel, financial, and identification purposes. I’m sure they will be helpful and convenient. They might even save lives. They will be so great that they will become mandatory. What comes next, no one knows.
9 & 10. Bitcoin and Digital Currency
A one world government always seemed like a conspiracy theory. Then the United Nations appeared. But, if every country had their own currency, how could there truly be one government?
It’s revolutionary financial technology.
As a Bitcoin expert put it, “Bitcoin is a nerdy high school science fair experiment that grew wings.” Fast forward 10+ years. Bitcoin is now a juggernaut and governments are playing catchup. China just banned Bitcoin transactions, and El Salvador became the first country to approve Bitcoin as legal tender. The future of Bitcoin seems troubled or is the future depending on who you talk to. The battle is still playing out.
China, Europe, and the US are now currently planning on rolling out their own new digital currency.
There are rumblings of a major financial crisis on the horizon. A financial crisis always follows a health crisis. Unemployment sky rockets, borders are closed, trade suffers, tourism pauses, etc. These are all things we’ve seen in the news as of late. A financial crisis is another means of seizing power and implementing new controls on the population. Ultimately, I believe the imminent financial crisis will microwave the digital currency adoption process. The great reset is no longer science fiction. If a health crisis is a good reason to get a microchip, a financial crisis will be a great reason. The Bible warns that whoever doesn’t receive the Mark, won’t be able to buy or sell.
11. Bible Verses About Jesus’ Return
When I read Bible verses like Luke 21:25-28, it certainly seems like Jesus’ return could happen at any moment.
These are 5 things the Bible says about Jesus return.
12. The Bible Is Being Proven Today, Right Now
Just last week, a team of archeologists announced they have found the “real Mount Sinai in Saudi Arabia, where the Bible says God handed Moses the Ten Commandments after he parted the Red Sea and crossed from Egypt.”
What was considered by most to be an elaborate fairy tale is being proven as fact. Is this God’s way of letting people know the Bible isn’t just a fairy tale? Is it coincidence that this is being discovered today?
13. The Interesting Case of Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky
Rabbi Kanievsky is considered to be one of the top two or three rabbies of the ultra Orthodox Jewish community in Israel today. Rabbi Yaakov Zisholtz claims that Kanievsky has tasked him with informing the public of the imminent arrival of the Messiah.
14. Christians Have Stopped Talking About Jesus’ Return
Christmas has traditionally been a time to focus on Jesus’ Second Coming.
When is the last time you heard Jesus’ return discussed during the Christmas season? Probably never. We typically don’t even talk about Jesus at Christmas, let alone his Second Coming. Will Jesus return when we least expect it?
15. A Surge of Christian Prophets
In early 2020, YouTube’s algorithm suggested a video for me to watch which has since been deleted. It was unlike anything I had ever seen YouTube suggest before. It was a warning from a woman who seemed very sincere that something bad was about to happen. She was warning people to get right with God. I watched the entire thing. It seemed heartfelt and not crazy. She took her time explaining exactly what led her to make the video. She only had one or two videos on her channel. I had a weird feeling that she was right and so did many others. I checked the time stamp. The video was created around three years earlier. But, YouTube had oddly suggested this video to everyone right before the coronavirus pandemic started. Was it a coincidence? People left comments saying they were “freaked out.” Was this one of God’s ways of warning people that something big was indeed about to happen?
For every heartfelt video like hers, there are probably 1,000 that are pure clickbait, scams, or insane. But, there is certainly something happening. The New York Times released a story this year discussing the rise of Christian prophets. Something is happening.
You may be familiar with a man named Dana Coverstone. He was a pastor of a small Kentucky church who recorded a Facebook video at the beginning of coronavirus telling people about a dream he had with a warning to “brace yourself.” He shot to fame overnight. It was easy to people to poke fun, but his dream turned out to be eerily accurate. “He was just a random guy sharing something from the heart…he wasn’t trying to get famous.”
16. People Know In Their Heart
Believing Jesus will return isn’t some fringe belief. People seem to know in their heart it will happen.
17. Gospel Preached To All Nations
Is it possible that the gospel has been preached to all nations?
The short answer is YES!
“There is no nation on earth that has not at some time received Christian missionaries preaching the Gospel.” -Dick Harfield
It’s very interesting that there was an explosion of missionaries right before coronavirus shut the world’s borders. In 2019, you might have heard about the story of John Chau. He was killed attempting to share the gospel with what some consider to be the most isolated tribe on earth.
18. The Specialist DREAM
Dana Coverstone’s Specialist DREAM is very interesting. It’s worth listening to. I’m not a big fan of YouTube prophecy videos, but Dana seems to be real, heartfelt, honest, and humble.
19. Unsettling Signs
All eyes are on China right now. Is war looming with Taiwan? Three weeks ago all eyes were on Afghanistan. Before that, Russia. Next week, it will be North Korea. According to Wikipedia, there are 50+ armed conflicts happening right now in the world.
20. Israel’s Threat of Destruction
In August, Israel’s defense minister claimed that Iran is 10-weeks away from having a nuclear weapon. No one really knows for sure. We do know that Iran continues to call for the destruction of Israel, as current as last month. Certain Bible verses appear to depict nuclear war during the “end times”…if it’s true, it will be worse than anything we can imagine. In the meantime, all we can do is pray for peace in Jerusalem.
